About This Video
Shawn McCraney discusses the Traditional View of Scripture (TVOS) versus the Proper View of Scripture (PVOS), contrasting how TVOS perceives the Bible as a rulebook with objective faith and directives, while PVOS interprets it as a spiritual guide offering wisdom and encouraging subjective faith and unity among believers through principles and themes. He emphasizes that PVOS focuses on love and liberating the reader, maintaining that scripture should be understood as a living text motivating spiritual growth, rather than a collection of man-made doctrines that divide and confine.
Comparing TVOS and PVOS
From the Mecca of Salt Lake City, Utah, this is Heart of the MatterTGNN’s original show where Shawn McCraney deconstructed religion and developed fulfilled theology., where we are working together to . . . And I’m your host Shawn McCraneyFounder of TGNN and developer of the fulfilled perspective—calling people to faith outside of religion.. Tonight is our short show – tomorrow is our long show. Show 12s Comparing the TVOS and the PVOS. Taped Sunday December 20th 2020. Aired Monday December 21st 2020.
I want to talk tonight about the TVOS (Traditional View of Scripture) verses the PVOS (the Proper View of Scripture) tonight. Ready? There are TWELVE COMPARISONS.
Traditional View vs. Proper View
The TRADITIONAL VIEW of SCRIPTURE says that it was . . . THE PROPER VIEW OF SCRIPTURE says that it was . . . Written to us today. (expand) Written to those believers in that age with some application to us today. Applicable literally to each of us now. Applicable to us now in principle and themes. (expand) Is a manual on how to do Christianity objectively. Is a spiritual map full of spiritual principles on how to know God and walk the Christian walk subjectively. Is full of rules. Is full of wisdom and insights. Tells people how things must be. Tells people how things were and will be in the lives of those who walk by faith. Faith is Objective – there is a way! Do it! Faith is Subjective. Believers are entitled to hate, look down on or despise others based on its contents. Believers are commanded to love all people with agape loveSelfless love marked by patience, mercy, and humility—central to living in spiritual liberty. at all times in His name (in fact, I would suggest that if there is any doctrine on earth that does not move you to expressing agape love it is a false doctrine/interpretation and ought to be removed from your mind).
Key Differences
IT offers regiments that confines its reader. Liberates the reader through truth and agape love. Divides believers one from another through denominationalism. Unites all believers of Christ in love. Quenches the Spirit. Invites and does not hinder the Spirit. Reveals a anachronistic eschatologyStudy of “last things”—TGNN teaches all biblical eschatology was fulfilled in 70 A.D. More. Supports a reasonable and fulfilled eschatology. Takes ten passages out of thousands and concocts the “man-made, must be taught” doctrine of the Trinity. Proves that there is one God, the Father, and one Lord Jesus Christ.
The Word of God is living, and when read by the Spirit works with each individual on what God wants to do in their lives. Men have made the Word of God dead by interpreting it as a set of rules and religious mandates.
