Male Sexuality and Spirituality

Dear Brother Shawn??Thank you for another concise and thoughtful message. I’m hopeful to maintain my anonymity and appreciate you allowing me to do so.??There are some questions on this topic of Male sexuality that I’ve wanted to ask for some time. In this era, I feel you can help so many of us men who, raised in Mormonism or Christianity, have been buried in guilt and shame.??Imagine that your enjoying your Morning Bible study. Out at a bagel shop perhaps. You discover a new passage and feel an overwhelming sense of joy. You know this moment is inspired and God sent??In that moment a very attractive female walks in to the restaurant. She is scantily clad and in an instant, as your jaw drops into your cream cheese, your spiritual high has?been replaced with all the senses of being a Heterosexual male.??

Questions on Faith and Flesh

Here are the questions:??Did the spirit literally leave as taught in the LDS faith???Is your spiritual walk comprised forever now that you have “lust of the flesh”?? (Didn’t Jesus teach to look with lust is equal to the act)??Did not the same God who dumped the dopamine in your system when aroused ask you not to look? How do you walk with Christ knowing you are going to look again.??Thank you for sharing your thoughts and experiences??Respectfully, W.L? (I’m calling myself the Wisdom Leech)?? P.S. Didn’t Ravi have the distinction of being one of 2 non-Mormons to speak in the LDS tabernacle?

Shawn,??Just watched your Leave Ravi Alone show…wow. I love the way you own your "flesh" and not condemn others for their sins. I actively watch HOTM and Mike Wingers shows.??While watching Mike Winger cry tears over a man's fleshly sin which, by the way, ALL men including Mike and James White have looked upon a woman with lust…I was thinking of what would Christ do with Ravi???I know Christ would've drawn a line in the sand and said Those without sin cast the first stone. Then he would have embraced Ravi and forgiven him 100 times over.??Love the way you mention about how critical people are over numbers like Ravi had 200 photos of lewd women on his cell. Give me a break. I would be surprised if a man DIDN’T have a sexy girl or 2 on his phone.??Keep up the Lord's work Shawn, I don’t judge you for your Tequila drinking either lol that was hilarious. Love how open you are. I fully support your views and love your show Shawn. God bless you and keep it up.??Brother in Christ,??Chris

Accountability and Judgment

From Merrygoroundhound

Your lack of accountability to the body is shown by the things you proudly admitted what you have done as a Christian at the end of your show. You have no right to even be in the church, let alone teach or pretend to pastor a church.

The Amen Corner • 3 days ago I disagree, we need to live Hebrews 12! To roll out the checklist for the flesh indulgence is just wrong.

seek find • 3 days ago (edited) We all have skeletons in the closet. I will not boast in my flesh but I will boast of God's GRACE and MERCY. King David had a man's wife, got her pregnant, then had him murdered; this was a man after God's heart. Blessed is the man whose sins are forgiven.

Robert Hasse • 3 days ago Quick word just on James White. I first encountered him while driving to San Diego and stumbling onto a Catholic radio station. He was in a debate with a Catholic defender, and the subject was Purgatory. White was clearly knowledgeable and well-versed in scripture. And the subject…was Purgatory! Should have been a snap. But all that said, the Catholic was waxing his tail. White got so pissed, he stopped responding to the other guy's questions. He clammed up like an angry child, refusing to answer points specifically directed at him. The next day I googled White and caught his show. He was recapping that very debate and explaining how he'd won! Egad! That was my first taste of the guy.

The Main Topic: A Discussion on Christian Beliefs and Morality

Ravi is saved by grace through faith, not condemned by his mistakes. Shawn, I love this perspective of yours so much!

Totally agree: met a couple at a maternity class, they seemed nice, using Christian-ese, he let me know he had his Masters in Divinity. Being born again out of Mormonism I wasn't impressed. He then proceeded to tell me his church had multiple services on the weekend, I said as long as the word is taught, he then said, well, not so much on Sunday because of all those services. I said have a great day. Never spoke to him again.

Love the Video Sean. God is using you and others like you similar to the way he used John. We need brothers (and sisters) standing outside the church on Sundays proverbially crying out to their brothers and sisters inside.

Reflections on Sin and Forgiveness

Let he who is without sin… cast the first stone….

Love your honesty Shawn.

15:13 – Shawn flips the bird. That kind of irreverence is one of the reasons why I'm a fan.

Shawn, I just got to the end of this video and I must issue this warning from God's word. God is telling you AND me that if we are drunkards or immoral (porn, which I'm tempted to look at as well and I have been guilty of in the past of looking at) we will NOT enter heaven. I am tempted to look at porn nearly every day, that desire is not sin unless we actually give into it and actually look at the porn. At that point, it becomes immorality and IF we continue in that we will not enter heaven, the same thing with alcohol, if you/we continue to buy alcohol and get drunk you/we will NOT enter heaven, NO, God does not approve/accept our drunkenness or immorality, he HATES our sin. Sir, you are in great deception if you believe God "understands" our sins and will excuse them. Paul told Christians that immoral and idolatrous people will not enter heaven, he then says "let no man deceive you!, because of these things (immorality and idolatry) the WRATH of God comes upon the children of disobedience. We all MUST stay away from immorality, porn, alcohol, idolatry in order to enter heaven.

Misconceptions on Temptation and Sin

Shawn, while I agree with you on a lot of this you are making a huge error. Every human being has a sinful flesh that desires sin and is tempted to sin, being tempted to sin however is NOT sin. It only becomes sin when we do the thing we are being tempted to do. Having a desire to have sex with my next door neighbor's wife is the sinful flesh desiring sin, however, it only becomes sin when I act on that desire and do something to cause me to get closer to having sex with my next door neighbor's wife. Desiring to drink alcohol is the sinful flesh desiring sin. It only becomes sin when I go buy the alcohol and drink it. You are implying that EVERY man especially Christian leaders are actually acting out their temptations, this is false. Ravi acted out his sinful flesh's desires and was a devil in sheep's clothing. From recent revelations, we see that John MacArthur is an idolater of money and materialism with $14 million net worth, $900,000+ year salary, 3 homes valued at $2.5 million, and 2 country club memberships. The bible says idolaters and immoral people will not enter heaven. Again, every human on earth has a sinful flesh that desires sin, IF we give into those desires and continue to do so we will not be allowed into heaven despite trusting in Jesus. Jesus and the apostle Paul warned over and over to us all that if we continue in sin we will not enter heaven, Jesus said "workers of iniquity" would not be allowed into heaven despite calling Jesus LORD LORD.

The Intersection of Religion and Accountability

SHOULD be condemned as should John MacArthur so that the church will fear going into sin as well. Paul said to rebuke sinful church leaders in front of ALL that they may fear God.

I just heard this quote; it's my thought of the week: "Religion is the perfect place to hide from God." -Richard Rohr. Great author. This is excellent. Especially in today’s day and age of “Cancel Culture” and so many Christians are up in arms about it. Which is ironic, since us Christians created the original “Cancel Culture”. Instead of canceling we gotta start loving. Good vid. Can you explain how Mormons are frustrated in a church that didn't prepare them for government overriding them and closed churches?

Shawn, please do not back down. Keep flipping those tables. Do not allow these wolves in sheep's clothing to guilt you into stopping your attack. Expose these hypocrites, defend the faith. Much love brother, I will join you soon. Well of course everyone sins but Ravi, like Joseph Smith, was completely controlled by his flesh. They carefully plotted and then reveled in their sin. Both were phonies. Amen, Shawn. Strongly agree. Thank you for this perspective. I really appreciate it. Shawn, from an Acts 28 dispensationalist to a full preterist, take care brother! We can learn much from all this but it shouldn’t be harped on over and over. This dude can grow a sick beard! Whether any of these men were brilliant academics or trash collectors, what is the defense of Ravi? I don't think it was so much a defense of Ravi as it was an offense to those pointing their fingers at him.

Perceptions of Religious Leaders

I've always been afraid of what I call "super saints" because they put unrealistic expectations out there…and it is discouraging. I just caught the very end of your stream, but thank you. Behold the lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. The debt is paid in full. Where sin abounds Grace abounds MORE. Love you Brother. Faith and Love.

Jesus is Lord The truth will set you free. But people still sin while going to “church”. Why do people think it’s okay to live in a sinful lifestyle but say they are Christians? Something is not right. Love the sinner, hate the sin. Shawn McCraney has a big heart ??. So glad I found your channel! Thanks Shawn!

Struggles with Religious Identity

I had to step out and become inactive 10 years ago because it was giving me bad vibes and I was seeing the hypocrisy. My kids were young and I had no exposure to anti-Mormon anything, but I just couldn’t go where I was made to feel worthless! So glad 10 years later I was saved as I learned the truth of the horrid church I was born and raised in. I dived into The Word and seeing the glaring contradiction between Jesus’ teaching and LDS theology, I can never call them anything but Mormon/LDS. It’s an ANTI CHRIST doctrine! Love your content!

I give Ayn Rand credit for being my first step out of the Mormon church and ultimately not becoming an atheist or believing in subjective morality. A great point of her virtue of selfishness is that when someone ambitious and industrious, seeks a profit, they create opportunity for others to gainful employment and strengthens economy, staving off socialism and communism. Pre-Ayn Rand, my subjective Mormon thought patterns didn’t serve me. I started using objectivity and logic by denying myself an emotional reaction to any idea that entered my head and as I stepped away from the church which caused me to question the existence of God and morality, it was that objective thought practice that forced me to believe.

The Nature of Existence and Belief

In God and moral absolutes. It made me ultimately be born again because I could realize that this was not an emotional process, it was my intelligence and God’s miracle of giving me a new heart that brought me to it. Remember, the heart is deceitful and emotion is what traps people in fear and cults. I agree with so much of your content, glad I found you!

Perspectives on Salvation and Existence

MOSSYMAN 789 wrote the following: Not true. Jesus is so powerful all will be eventually will be saved. Check out tent maker Ministries. All will be in the new Jerusalem. God only punishes with purpose which means after punishment comes mercy and salvation. The Young’s Literal Translation says hell is for a time. Hell is temporary and all will be saved including the devil. God in Christ saves all in due time. Hell is temporary and all will be saved in Christ.

That answer you gave brother Shaun at time 25:15 really opened my eyes. Makes so much sense. Thank you Brothers.

Stephanie Smith: Love is the answer.

Seek find: So true Brother

Stephanie Smith: Amen. Love your honesty and transparency Shawn, a breath of fresh air.

Ugh, quackoo.

JDUB: That beard is reaching epicness. Love you Sean. Thank you for your ministry.

A GOD FOR THE ATHEIST: The TRUTH is we do not exist. We consist of molecules which consist of protons electrons neutrons which are just electromagnetic energy fields. Apparently this mass of energy is sapient. I think therefore I am.. But what where why how am I? No answers available… therefore my sapient consciousness must CREATE ANSWERS From nothing except thought or electromagnetic energy fields. I think therefore I am. I am creating my own purpose and meaning since there really is none. In the beginning was the word. “Whhhatt??,” yeah that’s where we began. Where who began? Shrug. Where what began? Shrug. WHY AND HOW, did whatever I am begin? Shrug? Since there is no answer, I must CREATE answers. We are the creator and the creation. We are a singularity and hat created ourself but then those pesky questions needed answers and for every answer, it only CREATED more questions and thus the universe came into existence…..we have been multiplying exponentially ever since. I think therefore I am… just a singularity a conscious self-awareness growing and growing with every answer demanded and question it creates….all that exists is composed of yes no, on off, 1 0. 00111010. All the answers to all the questions expressed as a binary language… but the 0 is nothing so only the 1’s exist. 1111 but only the NOW 1 exists because the past nows are forever over and the future nows do not exist yet. We are the SINGULARITY of this NOW UNIverse which is constantly changing form. Ever expanding as the answer to the questions just creates more questions that must be answered about a UNIverse of what why who how… that have no answers…so WE CREATED ANSWERS yes we are GOD the creator of our UNIverse….. only NOW has ever existed constantly expanding as a singularity. But we have created a beautiful existence of meaning and purpose to enjoy forevermore… what purpose? LOVE !!! Built by FAITH in our PasT Nows and HOPE for better Future Nows. Theses three remain … Faith hope and love and the greatest of these is love because. Only our love we have NOW will ever exist….

Reflections on Gratitude and Faith

Thank you brother I needed to hear that.

As you say, grateful for the tempering by the Almighty. Good stuff.

He looks like Brigham Old.

When one invests in erroneous thinking, it is hard to admit it, and even harder to change it.

You look like Brigham young.

Great interview, Shawn and Joan! Very honest.

I’ve never seen Shawn’s feet

Joan, Joan, Joan, where do I…

Awakening to Spiritual Realities

I love you! Such a great interview. You are indeed blessed to articulate what needs to be said concerning the awakening of a soul to hear God's voice even while in the deceptive clutches of formalized religion. He spoke clearly to you though only 2 days prior you were defending falsehoods. Amazing. As you know, I have my own story in being called out of Jehovah's Witnesses and as soon as my thumbs stop typing this I'm sharing it with two former JWs transitioning out. Your words are intelligent and encouraging. Thank you for sharing your story, sister!

Chris Terranova commented, "We love you, Shawn. Just like Don Henley said, you got back to 'the heart of the matter' just like old times! She is indeed an intelligent tour de force."

Marlo Oaks added, "I agree, I hate Mormonism, but I LOVE the Mormon people. I too was once deceived. We cannot reach these people by debate, only by Love. They shut down inside once the debate begins. Remember they are victims in this in most cases."

Perspectives on the New Jerusalem

Duane Dahl Jr. remarked, "Nice work, as always Shawn. The Dogs were outside the new Jerusalem gates, good to be a dog!"

Aimee Johnson shared her thoughts, "I think that the New Jerusalem is a current spiritual reality for living believers who have not yet physically died, who are saved by God's Grace through Faith in the Finished Works of Jesus Christ. As it says in the Bible that we are seated in Christ Jesus in Heavenly places. We have the opportunity now to go out into the world and invite people to come into God's Kingdom with us."

T-Bone V posed a question, "Shawn, what about the unpardonable sin? Didn't Jesus say blasphemy against the Holy Ghost will not be forgiven?"

Dan Reich asked, "Why are there so many warnings in the Bible for those who reject God and/or practice evil if in the end there is universal salvation for all? That makes no more sense than eternal torment."

Chris E contributed, "There is still the process of sanctification. Holiness is a calling of the Spirit. I believe there are still rewards and callings for those who are in Christ. Just because we believe that all will be saved does not mean we also believe that it's prudent to live an immoral and selfish life. Love still calls and it is not an easy burden to carry."

Glass Formely Known As Sandcastle queried, "If I were to get into the new Jerusalem in the presence of God, would I be able to visit somebody who is outside the walls/gates."

DDubya explained, "Hell is an English word employed by King James translators, perhaps by way of the Bishop’s Bible, to translate 'grave,' both in the Hebrew and Greek texts. 'Hell' quite simply, maybe most simply, means the grave. As far as eternal torment goes, that absurd, if not vindictive notion, is an example of eisegesis, reading one’s own world-views into a text. I recommend Immortalizing Evil by C. E. Chandler on this subject."

J7 T8 expressed a desire, "I would love a discussion on how to better integrate people of different beliefs and ways of living and how to better communicate with them in our lives. Somehow Paul was able to do this, he was willing to talk to anyone and Jesus also. Neither one of these great reformers advocated violence towards others despite their deeply held beliefs."

Reflections on Religious Manipulations

Truth Seeker noted, "Nelson gave a conference talk in 1990 about how Mormon was hated by God. Later the current prophet of the church, Spencer W. Kimball, gave an entire talk on how good it was in the sight of God for the name Mormon be used. Nelson's attitude towards the name of the church directly called Spencer W. Kimball a fallen prophet, and every prophet before."

The Nature of God and Morality

Compared to the god of the bible everyone who hasn’t committed a crime against humanity is good. The god of the bible is a petty, cruel and vindictive monster who supports slavery and genocide. I question the morality of anyone who has read the bible and doesn’t view god as the villain. “God gave his only begotten son” = human sacrifice. He offered the Son, men killed him. How many innocent people has God killed? Where does He ever condone slavery?

Ezekiel 33:11 (KJV) Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel?

Insights and Perspectives

Jon Golden expresses that the message is insightful, providing perspective about his church, mentioning moral relativism and cultural sins, particularly in dating practices. He struggles with false guilt despite knowing he’s not in sin, emphasizing the importance of love and respect for differing opinions.

Through textual criticism, we can see that we have pretty much what was in the original autographs. The transmission of the New Testament is as reliable as the Old Testament. There is nothing wrong with using the terminology of Old and New Testament. Many words have a range of meaning, and the context shows us what we mean. The Old Testament is of great value, being the scriptures Jesus and his followers had in the early church. They used the translation into Greek, ie the LXX or Septuagint. The quotes from the Old Testament in the new are LXX quotes.

Reflections on Personal Journeys

Cathy Hansen shares her story with courage, bringing hope, faith, and love to those seeking the truth. Her journey is celebrated by many, expressing gratitude and admiration for her strength.

Despite differing beliefs, his debating ability is appreciated, showing the value in respectful discourse. Hawk Davison shares his ongoing journey from Mormonism, expressing love and gratitude toward Shawn for being a guiding light.

Melissa Hursey simply remarks "Excellent," while Valerie Eckles inquires about the timing and location of Bible studies, expressing gratitude. Sarah Leann Young appreciates the interview and the work done by Danny in reaching the LDS community, emphasizing the need to pursue an Ex-Mormon Conference. H Bendzulla finds Danny's story strikingly honest and compelling, detailing his transition from Mormonism to a Christ-centered life. UltraAar comments that anarchy is an antichristian stance.

but you Mormons do anything that Joseph Smith taught about Jesus is not the same Jesus as in the Bible infact Jesus stated that if a prophet reveal one untrue revelation then he a fault prophet and Joseph Smith got so many wrong including the proper dates of the first vision.

Pride Dave Corrigan I want a sticker with the Ark under a rainbow that says, Obedient or Humble. Let's take it back haha Pride Polly Dunn Its a very ME ME I want all the attention world just look at some of the social media out there. Sad to see but its only going to get worse.

Pride Chance Chopp Ya, when it comes to the rainbow, I just think that is a message to be mercifull to them. Pride Chris E It's just the world being the world. I hear what you're saying but I think it will mostly fall on deaf ears. If the Spirit doesn't move them and make them see the carnality of it, well, they won't be moved.

Pride Wilford Great description of white durbin and Apologia.

Robin Roberts I was raised LDS and 2 years ago I read the bible without reference. I cried and prayed that what I was reading was wrong? All my life I had seen Jesus as a brother to satan, not seeing him as the diety he is. I learned about the free masons and Joseph Smith. My eyes were opened and now I am a new person in christ.. I lost friends but gained strength and truth with God.

K Sladerock My wife has been battling mental illness for years and just last year she found a doctor that prescribed the right medication. We have always had faith that God can heal but sometimes God let's u suffer. I'm not sure what GOD'S lesson was for us but I believe it was for good.

Reflections on Faith

A Million Acres of Fun Chris E What if Jesus overcame sin already and we are simply battling the desires that are simply innate to flesh in order to truly understand His love? The eternal consequences of sin have been dealt with by Christ. However, in order to show the world that God is real, we overcome our own flesh. Maybe that's what Christ meant when He said "do your good works before men so they might glorify God"? Jesus ™ I'm enjoying from a distance. Mind your P's and Q's

[17L] Time With Charlie Clark Laura Odle Thank you for having Charlie on your show

Reflections on Faith and Divine Selection

At 43 years old, he's a new father to a 17-month-old son. He desperately needs a mentor to help him who has walked in his shoes. Charlie, you've given me hope and faith to continue to pray for him, his companion, and my only grandchild. God bless you, Charlie. Thank you for sharing your life story.

Ground control to major Tom. I just lost my cousin at 40 to a heart attack while hunting birds in steep country. He left a 9-month-old son and wife behind.

Great show, Shawn. What a great interview. And you're so right, God sometimes picks us! It’s amazing we don’t talk about these types of miracles more? We talk about Paul all the time in reference to Jesus Christ but forget that Paul (like your friend here) was selected by God…and the rest is history! Why does God pick certain people as opposed to people searching for him? My theory: God knows our heart and we can’t comprehend the mind of God? Perhaps these human selections are simply Heavenly Father discerning at a deeper level past our limited understanding and perhaps it’s supposed to be this way? Maybe a seeker isn’t just someone overtly searching, maybe it’s the covert seeker not even knowing their own value that God picks? Example: Simba becoming the Lion King but it wouldn’t have happened without divine intervention?

Personal Testimonies and Transformation

Wow! Praise God, Charlie. I'm so blessed to know you and hear your story. I thank God that He saved your life and brought you back to your wife and boys. Something you experienced worth noting for me is the agape love your wife showed you after everything that happened while your church ousted you for having some different views on eschatology. I'm so glad you found Shawn and CAMPUS!

God uses us for His good purpose. I believe God's spirit came upon you and changed you, Charlie, not just for your wife and children alone, but also for your powerful testimony for all to hear! Thank you for sharing your story. ?

Amazing journey, Awesome God, Christ-like forgiveness from a loving wife. Charlie's testimony is powerful.

Wow. Just rediscovered, heart of the matter earlier today. Used to watch you on cable years ago, before you had the howdy sign and all. What was this guy referring to as far as a belief that's different from the church he attended for 10 years?

Great way to learn about you. Shawn is an amazing man. I love heart of the matter.

Thank you for this.

The Role of Love in Resurrection

Bro, this is so cool! Dead in our trespasses. I got some major Tolkien imagery going on in my head from this.

I agree, Shawn, that love is our overall resurrection attribute. And yet, I can’t see how we wouldn’t take our intelligence and understandings of our own subjective human parts with us? To love and think and act are all part of our agency? We have music and science and laughter and emotion and pain and suffering mixed in with this probationary state called mortality? Can you explain a bit more your case for only taking love beyond the veil when we are resurrected? Thanks, brother!!! Great subject for this show!!!!
