HOTM Show 11: Briell Decker Blanchart – Part II
Let’s begin with a prayer shall we?
PRAYER
Before we get into part two with our delightful guest, Briell Decker Blanchart, I want to mention that we do all of these shows as a means to help discuss things that really matter to the human experience. They matter because I believe they weigh in with eternal significance to the human being. I think that what we think, and what we believe, and when what we do with these mindsets make a difference to us here . . . and in the hereafter.
Remembering a Friend
For the past few years we have had a regular attendee to HOTM on Tuesday Nights. Mike Johnson. He and his wife also attend our verse-by-verse teachings on Sunday. Last week he was here making us laugh (as usual) teasing Steve Utley about things, and having a good time being amazed at the courage of Brielle as Mike and his wife Jill have very close ties to plural marriage. Twenty-four hours later Mike, only in his fifties, passed away in his sleep – without warning. His funeral is this Saturday at 11 o'clock at Heritage Park here in Salt Lake City.
(silence)
What does all of this stuff we do mean in the case of Mike? What will it mean to you and me when without question someday someone is going to be announcing our passing and services? What kind of life are you living? I don’t mean in terms of sin. I mean in terms of faith and love. If these shows and interviews and teachings are not having a direct impact on this question in your life, then I am failing as a teacher as EVERYTHING we do is an attempt to get you, our viewers and listeners, to think . . . to consider . . . to reflect – on your life lived, your present choices and your future direction, on what you really accept as truth, and whether there are things you ought to rethink, and perhaps discard or embrace.
We dedicate part II tonight to our Brother Mike Johnson who exited this world for the next unexpectedly, but will forever be with us in our hearts and memories as a man who walked in humble faith and great great love for others.
