About This Video

To comprehend Exodus 29:42-46, it's essential to recognize that it emphasizes God's promise to sanctify the tabernacle, altar, and priests, highlighting the importance of divine intervention in the sanctification process rather than human efforts. This concept mirrors the overarching narrative of fulfillment, where God is shown to dwell among His people, echoing His relationship with humankind from the Garden of Eden and culminating in the work of His Son.

Shawn explains that throughout history, God's presence has transitioned from the Garden of Eden to the Tabernacle, and ultimately to Jesus Christ, who represents the Perfect House. Through Christ's victory over sin and death, God now resides in His permanent house—His Son and all who receive and believe in Him—extending justification to all humanity, thereby transforming the world and constantly inviting everyone to embrace faith and sanctification.

Shawn suggests that God is present with all people, calling and inviting them to reconcile themselves to Him, because He has already reconciled the world to Himself and paid for sin. This concept emphasizes ongoing individual choice between following God's will and self-will, likened to choosing between the Tree of Life and the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil in the Garden of Eden, which relates to personal spiritual growth and the production of good fruit, as illustrated in scriptural teachings and parables like the Parable of the Sower.

Shawn teaches that the central discussion among interfaith believers concerns understanding God's purpose in the salvation of the world, focusing on the life, death, resurrection, ascension, and return of His Son. Additionally, he highlights the contrasting qualities described in Matthew 5, including being poor in spirit, mourning, meekness, hunger for righteousness, mercy, purity, peacemaking, and enduring persecution, to embody the spirit and soul of spiritual belief and practice.

Shawn's teaching highlights that sanctification is not achieved through human efforts or adherence to religious practices but through abiding in God, who sanctifies believers as they maintain their faith in Him. Justification is universally granted through faith, liberating believers from external religious demands and leading them to spiritual growth by letting God work through them, resulting in the desired transformation and rewards in the Kingdom of Heaven.

Sanctification of the Justified

Exodus 29:42 – 29:46 February 25th, 2024

Okay. From Chapter 28:30 (which we covered last week) through to chapter 29, verse 41, we read about more instructions on priestly dress, then lots of detail relative to animal sacrifice, about the Levites, Aaron and his sons, and other offerings. Many students and teachers of the Old Testament take time showing the significance of all of this relative to the Nation, the Law, and the promised Messiah to come. But those ancient weeds that quickly get tangles are not really that important compared to the grand narrative of Fulfillment.

Exodus Narrative

Jumping ahead to verse 41 of chapter 29, however, we do read the following in connection to all these things mentioned. It says in the face of it,

42 This shall be a continual burnt offering throughout your generations at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation before YAHAVAH where I will meet you, to speak there unto thee. 43 And there I will meet with the children of Israel, and the tabernacle shall be sanctified by my glory. 44 And I will sanctify the tabernacle of the congregation, and the altar: I will sanctify also both Aaron and his sons, to minister to me in the priest's office. 45 And I will dwell among the children of Israel, and will be their God. 46 And they shall know that I am YAHAVAH their Elohiym, that brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, that I may dwell among them: I am YAHAVAH their Elohiym.

Before we move on, I am driven to teach some synthesized concepts to keep us on track of what is really being said here—most of it you have heard but the collective body helps us understand the point of the verses we just read—it is God who sanctifies His Children, and His Children do not sanctify themselves. Remember what YAHAVAH says to the Nation of Israel through Moses THAT FAR BACK! He has told them all that they were to do and be in terms of their relationship via the Law. And then He adds in the face of them doing all that He has said,

42 This shall be a continual burnt offering throughout your generations at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation before YAHAVAH where I will meet you, to speak there unto thee. And there I will meet with the children of Israel, and the tabernacle shall be sanctified by my glory. And I will sanctify the tabernacle of the congregation, and the altar: I will sanctify also both Aaron and his sons, to minister to me in the priest's office. And I will dwell among the children of Israel, and will be their Elohiym.

46 And they shall know that I am YAHAVAH their Elohiym, that brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, that I may dwell among them: I am YAHAVAH their Elohiym.

God's Presence and Sanctification

It would be so simple to just read these things and nod our heads as history but they picture something so central to the faith today, so important to our being His children, so vital to how He works in individuals today, that I was really moved to take the road less traveled in hopes to help aid our understanding in this overarching theme.

So…

We have scriptural insights on what YAHAVAH has done for the world through His Son, right? Let me restate what I have said before. First, we read of God in the Garden of Eden walking in the cool of the Day with Adam and Eve. Adrian Rogers called this God’s primary house. What can we say about it? It was good. Without sin. Right, with two made in His image and them having an open intimate relationship. The couple had choice in and through liberties extended and they had warnings provided by Him as they related to Him in and through this initial or Primary Home.

Of course, they chose their will over God’s, and God moved out—and they died spiritually in that day and ultimately in their bodies. Why?

No access to the Tree of Life which appears to have kept their material bodies alive. People (including myself) at one time have taught that there was no material death in the garden but that is not true. Adam and Eve ate of the living things around them that were dying in the process—plants and fruit—so the material end of things was happening and I think that it was their

God's Patterned House

Access to that tree of life that kept their bodies alive. In any case, they were removed, spiritually dead to the extent that God was not walking with them. We note that He did continue to relate to His human creations though, even speaking with them in their sin – remember Cain?

Okay, so here in Exodus God creates what we might see as His second home – what we could call His patterned House. It was a tabernacle with specific dimensions of specific materials and God has said, right here in Exodus 30, “Once you get all of this stuff made according to my specifications – I will meet you, to speak there unto thee.

Desolation and Redemption

This temple, over time and through all sorts of fails was subsequently overcome, polluted and what happened? YAHAVAH MOVED OUT, right? Yeshua said in His day that God’s House was made unto them desolate. Referring both to that Nation and the House that His tabernacle had become. The way Adam responded to the defilement was to make aprons of fig leaves to hide behind; the way the Nation responded to defilement of the tabernacle was to make bigger more ornate temples – but the external ornamentations (religion) were unimportant if the internal nature of each was defiled.

At this point the Primary House (Adam) and the Patterned House (the Tabernacle) were desolate. But “God so loved this world and the people on it in their sin” He sent what I call His Perfect House into the world, born of a woman, born under the Law, the one whom Paul purposely calls the Last Adam. In Him “the fullness of God” dwelled and by and through His life under the Law lived perfectly, He overcame that Law, nailed it to His Cross, shedding His eternally pure blood for the wages of sin.

The Permanent House

But we also know that while He was on that cross, God moved out of His perfect House (because of Him becoming sin for us) causing His only Human Son to cry, “My God, My God, why have you forsaken Me?” but the difference between Adam, and the Tabernacle was God returned to the Defiled House of His Son once and for all and after three days in the grave He RAISED Himself up from the grave victoriously and having put all that Adam introduced into the world, having paid for all sin forevermore (excepting the Sin of Unbelief) LISTEN NOW – and having taken the world ing and its sin with Him to His grave, He propitiated all to the Father – justifying all human beings and their failures forevermore.

Again, because of Christ, the world has been justified of its sin and all will rise up to heavenly life with heavenly bodies as a result – the faithful and faithless. These future heavenly bodies will be given by God to each of us and the scripture says that they are bestowed according to His Good Pleasure. But Paul also strongly intimates that His Good Pleasure is based on the fruit of the Spirit (which is love) that people evidenced in their lives.

So God, ever since the Resurrection of His Son, resides in His permanent House. His Son, Those who receive and believe on His Son, and then, because sin has been paid and the world has been reconciled to Him, every single person to some extent or another. This is His PERMANENT HOUSE.

And this being the case I maintain that for the past 2000 years the Victory of Christ has cause, the world of humans to have gotten better collectively. I also maintain that God, because of Christ’s victory, is constantly calling all of His creations, through His spirit, to believe and receive what He has done for them. For believers it is to allow Him to sanctify them. For unbelievers it is to receive Him by faith. But He calls to all and therefore we all will stand before Him to give account.

And that brings us to a place to where we can now speak – with God in all – mightily in believers and/or barely a spark in heart of the non, everyone on earth is in the constant state of choosing? Choosing what? Let’s talk

Understanding Reconciliation and Choice

Many people believe that in order to have God be in them they need to believe. I suggest that there is another view worthy of consideration.

Because He has been reconciled to the world and because the sin has been paid, I maintain that He is present with all, calling to all, and inviting all to, in the face of this, reconcile themselves to Him. That is why Paul wrote way back in 2nd Corinthians 5

2nd Corinthians 5:17 “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. 18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; 19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. 20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.”

This is the choice every individual in the world is making every minute of every day of their lives – and, in my opinion, even into the hereafter. I tend to describe us individually back in the Garden and choosing – God’s will and ways or our own.

The Rub of Religion and Relationship

This choosing is the rub of religion, the rub of relationship, the rub of sanctification since justification is done. Let’s go to the white board to use scriptural principles to aid our comprehension.

True Debate Among Believers

In the face of all of this, and if this explanation is true, the question remains? HOW, or BY WHAT MEANS ARE THOSE WHO BELIEVE ON HIM, WHO ENTER INTO HIS KINGDOM BY FAITH, HOW ARE THEY SANCTIFIED, MADE HOLY AND APPROPRIATED TO PRODUCE MUCH FRUIT WHICH IS HIS WILL? THIS IS THE TRUE DEBATE AMONG BELIEVERS!!!!!!

We have argued and said that people have to believe to be justified. Untrue. We have argued that Mormons/Catholics/JW/SDA are not saved from because they have the wrong Jesus, they have the wrong Gospel, they have the wrong God, etc. etc. But the real argument remains, HOW ARE JUSTIFIED PEOPLE, SANCTIFIED? Here are the answers:

BY VIRTUE OF JUST BEING HUMAN
BY RELIGION AND OR LAW

BY HIM

The Scriptural Foundation

Where is the answer? Go back to what God tells Moses here in Exodus
Exodus 29:42 This shall be a continual burnt offering throughout your generations at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation before YAHAVAH where I will meet you, to speak there unto thee.

You see, God through His Son, has not only done everything necessary to save us from sin, justifying all of us forevermore because of Adam’s choice, but He also invites all to come to Him through faith on His Victorious Son. HOW WE DO THIS REMAINS OUR CHOICE! However, the sanctification He seeks is typically put on the backs of believers by almost every religionist on earth! BUT IT'S JUST NOT SO!!!

It is not a “we come to Him, He saves us, and then it is on US to be sanctified.” NOT EVER. He DOES the sanctifying of us AS we abide in Him. That is WHY He permanently moves in to us! Now this is where the wheels come off the bus within religion.

Justification

Comes by Faith – don’t believe it's not applicable. Given to all and a resurrection is meted out to all which is the reward of lives lived.

All reconciled to GOD.
All saved from sin by His Blood.
All saved from hell.
End of Judgement
End of calling to repent of sin

BIBLICAL reality?

Sanctification
Comes by obedience, going to church, surrendering to edicts of religion, choosing to allow God to work in your life with a warning – if you don’t choose to do right, you will lose His love and your place in the Kingdom. All have been returned to spiritual Eden where we each choose to live either by the fruit of Good and Evil or the Fruit from the Tree of Life.

The fruit of the Tree of Life fortifies believers with the Spirit of God which sanctifies us; we are not sanctified by our fleshly endeavors – they are of this world and are according to our will.

Entrance into the Kingdom of Heaven as children of God. Total liberation from outward external religious demands. Learning to let the Living God produce the Fruit He desires from us. Rewards of a “better resurrection” for those who chose to humbly let Him work as we abide in His Son the Vine.
