Are You a Life Giver or a Life Taker?

Choosing to Uplift: The Power of Being a Life Giver

In our recent broadcast, we explored the profound question: Are you a life giver or a life taker? This concept stems from the belief that, through Jesus, we have been restored to a state similar to that of Adam and Eve in the garden, where we have the freedom to choose between serving God or ourselves.

At the heart of this discussion is the idea that our lives can ultimately be assessed based on whether we contribute positively to the world around us or detract from it. Jesus exemplified what it means to be a life giver through His actions: He sacrificed His desires for holiness, dedicated His time to teaching and serving others, shared His holiness, submitted to the will of His Father, and ultimately gave His life on the cross, offering eternal life to all who believe in Him.

Conversely, life takers are those whose actions stem from sin, which is anything that separates us from God. Gossip, theft, emotional harm, and physical abuse are all examples of how we can take life from others, causing them pain and suffering. Life takers can also be seen as those who diminish light, peace, hope, and love in the lives of others.

However, for those who follow Christ, the call is to be life givers and life savers. This can manifest in various ways, from providing for the material needs of others to offering emotional support and care. Medical professionals, teachers, and loving parents all contribute to the well-being of others, embodying the essence of life-giving.

Yet, the greatest contribution we can make is to support others in their eternal lives. While our physical existence is temporary, the life to come is everlasting. Therefore, encouraging and nurturing the spiritual well-being of others is the highest form of life-giving we can achieve.

Ultimately, God is love, light, and life. Choosing to be a life giver means embracing selflessness, kindness, and mercy, while being a life taker leads to indulgence in self-love and darkness. The choice is clear: to live as a life giver is to align with God’s purpose, while being a life taker leads us away from Him. Each day, we are faced with the decision to either uplift those around us or diminish their lives. The path of a life giver is one that brings fulfillment and aligns with God’s design for us.
