Understanding God’s Unchanging Love and Justice for All
In a recent broadcast, we explored a profound and concise proof that all people have been reconciled to God through the finished work of Christ, ensuring that upon death, they will enter a heavenly realm rather than a hellish one.
The foundation of this proof lies in several key scriptural truths. First, we affirm that God is love, characterized by patience, kindness, forgiveness, and longsuffering. Importantly, scripture also teaches that God does not change and cannot lie, and that He is not a respecter of persons.
If God is love and does not change, then His nature as patient, forgiving, and longsuffering must be constant for everyone. If He were not, it would imply that He changes, which contradicts His nature and would make Him a liar. Therefore, we can trust that God’s love is unwavering and inclusive.
Some may argue that God is also just, and they are correct. This justice is fulfilled through the sacrifice of His Son, as noted in 1 John 4:14, which states that the Father sent the Son to be the Savior of the world. Additionally, 1 Timothy 4:10 emphasizes that God is the Savior of all men, particularly those who believe.
With justice satisfied and God’s unchanging love established, we understand that while all have been justified through Christ, God rewards individuals based on the lives they choose to lead. Those who live by faith will receive corresponding rewards, while those who do not will also be rewarded according to their choices.
Ultimately, we can trust that all people will receive from God based on their freewill decisions, as the world has been reconciled to Him through Christ. This assurance rests on the unchanging nature of God: He is love, He is just, He does not lie, and He shows no favoritism.
