Why did Joseph Smith use the Elizabethan style of language used in the King James Bible.

There are a lot of “thee’s,” “thou’s,” and “ye’s” used throughout the Book of Mormon. People did not speak in those terms in Joseph Smith’s day, and his own personal letters and sermons do not reflect such outmoded speech. Besides, the language of the King James Bible was not the language of the ancient Hebrews or Egyptians, or Christ’s. Nor is it ours! Furthermore, neither God nor angels ever spoke in Shakespearian English. So, it leaves us to wonder if Joseph Smith used this form of writing to help the Book of Mormon sound more authoritative. Guess we’ll never know.
