Revelation 1:10-12 Bible Teaching
In a recent teaching session, we explored the details of John’s presence on the Isle of Patmos, as described in Revelation 1:9-12. Traditionally, it is believed that John was exiled there for preaching about Jesus Christ. However, a closer look at the text and historical context suggests that John might have been on Patmos voluntarily, possibly for missionary work, as the Greek term used does not explicitly state exile. Additionally, the timing of Revelation’s writing is debated, with some scholars proposing an earlier date than the commonly accepted 95 AD. These insights highlight the importance of examining both internal and external evidence to deepen our understanding of the scriptures.
