In a recent teaching, we explored Luke 6:4-19, focusing on themes of mercy, authority, and the Sabbath. The discussion began with Jesus and His disciples being accused by the Pharisees of breaking the Sabbath by harvesting grain. Jesus responded by highlighting His authority as Lord of the Sabbath. The teaching emphasized mercy over strict adherence to religious laws, illustrated by Jesus healing a man on the Sabbath. It also covered Jesus choosing His twelve apostles, marking their mission and authority. The focus was on the transformative power of mercy and Jesus’ prioritization of compassion over legalism.
