In the third week of quarantine during the coronavirus pandemic, we reflect on Luke 18:31-end, which highlights the journey of Jesus and the fulfillment of Messianic prophecies. Despite being with Jesus for years, the disciples struggled to understand the prophecies about His suffering, death, and resurrection, reminding us of how easily we can overlook scriptural truths due to biases. The Old Testament contains over 300 prophecies about the Messiah, including Psalm 22 and Isaiah 53, which were fulfilled in Jesus. The story of the blind man near Jericho illustrates the power of faith and spiritual insight, as his recognition of Jesus as the Messiah led to his healing. This narrative challenges us to confront our spiritual blindness and seek God’s truth, emphasizing the need for faith and openness to divine revelations. In uncertain times, we are encouraged to seek spiritual awakening and follow Jesus with renewed vision.
