In a recent teaching, we explored the relationship between faith and works through the writings of Paul and James. Our discussion highlighted Galatians 5:6, where Paul emphasizes that “faith which worketh by love” is what truly matters. This led to the debate of whether faith or works are more important, concluding that both are essential. James 2:14 questions the value of faith without corresponding actions, illustrating that genuine faith naturally leads to loving works. We examined Abraham and Rahab as examples, showing that true faith is always accompanied by love and action. Ultimately, while Paul speaks of salvation by grace through faith, James emphasizes that faith is perfected through works of love, demonstrating that the two are complementary.
