In a recent teaching, we explored Acts 17:18-25, focusing on Paul’s encounter with the philosophers of Athens. Paul engaged with Epicureans and Stoics, who were intrigued by his teachings on Jesus and the resurrection. At the Areopagus, a hub for discussions on justice and morality, Paul respectfully addressed the Athenians’ religious devotion, highlighting an altar inscribed “TO THE UNKNOWN GOD.” He used this as a gateway to introduce them to the true and living God, emphasizing that God, the creator of all, is not confined to man-made temples or reliant on human offerings. This teaching underscores the importance of seeking deeper understandings of faith and sharing the knowledge of the true God with others.
