In a recent teaching, we delved into the first chapter of the Second Epistle of Peter, focusing on the transformative power of faith and the divine nature. The session began with singing Christmas songs, setting a reflective tone for the scripture study. We discussed 2 Peter 1:1-4, where Simon Peter speaks to those who have obtained a precious faith through the righteousness of God and Jesus Christ. The teaching emphasized understanding the divine nature and escaping the world’s corruption through lust. We explored the Greek origins of “lust” and its connection to destructive forces opposing the divine nature. The session concluded with a call to embrace God’s promises, partake in His divine nature, and live free from the world’s corruption, highlighting the importance of growing in our knowledge of God for a life of peace, grace, and spiritual maturity.
