2 Corinthians 8:9-24 Bible Teaching
In a recent teaching session, we explored 2 Corinthians chapters 8 and 9, marking a first in our campus history by covering two full chapters in one day. This deep dive into Paul’s letter to the Corinthians sparked varied reactions to his approach in encouraging support for the saints in Jerusalem. Some viewed his appeal as manipulative, while others appreciated the human side of an apostle striving to do good. The discussion highlighted the tension between Paul’s human efforts and Jesus’ spiritual principles, such as giving discreetly and trusting in God’s provision. The session also examined communal living, noting that while the idea of shared resources is noble, history often shows such systems falter due to human self-interest. Despite critiques, Paul’s letters offer insights into giving willingly and cheerfully, aligning with biblical truths, and concluded with a reminder of God’s ultimate gift and a call to seek Him in spirit and truth.
