In a recent teaching, we explored the insights of 1st Peter, focusing on the transition from our old selves to a renewed life in Christ. Peter uses an “if/then” approach to guide believers in understanding their redemption and responsibilities. He stresses the importance of laying aside malice, guile, hypocrisies, envies, and evil speakings, urging believers to desire the “sincere milk of the word” for spiritual growth. This teaching emphasizes nurturing faith with proper spiritual nourishment, akin to newborns craving milk for survival. By focusing on spiritual growth and the fruits of the Spirit, believers can navigate the battle between flesh and spirit, living a life that reflects God’s love and grace.
